Leti Arts Releases Ananse Superhero Game for Windows Phone

ACCRA, GHANA. January 8, 2014

Leti Arts, one of Africa’s first interactive media studios with offices in Ghana and Kenya, announced today the release of the game Ananse: The Origin, for their superhero series, The True Ananse.

The True Ananse, is a Leti Arts digital comic and mobile game series influenced by the African folklore character from Ghana, Kweku Ananse, a character of trickery and cunning.

Leti Arts reimagines the story of Ananse with a unique twist depicting Ananse as a superhero in modern times. The game Ananse: The Origin is based on the plot of the pilot issue of the The True Ananse comic.

“ Play as Ananse and complete his quests in capturing the four most powerful forces on earth to attain the throne as God of Wisdom and Storytelling. ”

Ananse: The Origin is the first game to be released this year as part of Leti Arts’ Africa’s Legends series, the bigger series of which The True Ananse is a part.

Africa’s Legends reimagines popular African folklore and historic legends, interspersed with fictional characters, as an elite group of superheroes fighting crime in present day Africa. Comics and games based on Africa’s Legends tell the stories behind individual characters and the collective team.

“ We are excited to release Ananse: The Origin, the first game from Leti Arts this year.

This is the beginning of a push to release more comics, games and interactive content for The True Ananse and Africa’s Legends series this year. Expect more from us! ”

Eyram Tawia (CEO, Leti Arts)
